Interview with the author of Rio For Partiers
What is Rio For Partiers? Rio For Partiers is a travel guide to Rio de Janeiro written and designed for young minds interested in experiencing the fun side of Rio.
What makes it different from other travel guides? Other travel guides concentrate on Rio’s cultural and touristy side: museums, churches, statues etc. In RFP, we assume you want to enjoy your dinners and nightlife just as much as your daytime activities, so we do just that: we have 14 day tours with detailed steps that you can follow to experience the best Rio has to offer. We tell you to go this exact juice bar, to order this fruit juice, then to go this exact spot on the beach and so on. For dinner recommendations, we chose the top 12 typical Brazilian restaurants. We explain the type of food, what to order and what to avoid. For Nightlife recommendations, we chose the best spot for each night of the week for each style of environment: Clubbing, Street Party, Live Music and Chilling (bar or outdoor garden). So there are 32 nightlife recommendations that will suit the mood you are in. What’s more: None of these places are tourist traps! You will not see a bus full of safari-hat tourists take over the place. You will be among locals experiencing what they know to be the best Rio has to offer. AND: No one paid to be listed in our guide, these are places that our development team whole-heartedly love: either for the ambiance, the music, the food, the clientele or a mix of the four.
Can’t someone just get travel tips from other sources for free? Yes and no. There are three types of information about Rio out there (whether print or online):1) travel guides paid by advertisers, these only recommend those who paid to be listed; 2) government sponsored travel guide: very dry, no opinion or recommendations; and 3) incomplete travel guides: personal sites that recommend a few places, but omit other (and often better) tours, bars and restaurants. Rio For Partiers is the first up-to-date, non-sponsored, all-topics covered guide to Rio.
Who should NOT buy this guide? RFP is not a general travel guide for everyone. It is designed for young minds; people who want to go out and experience the city by themselves, without a guided tour. It is also not recommended for anyone staying less than 2 days (even though we have the “Do-It-All-In-1-Day Tour” chapter. Similarly, if you came to Rio looking to go to the beach during the day and the strip bar during the night, then little guidance is necessary.
What’s the deal with the free bonuses and discounts? We wanted this book purchase to be a no-brainer, so went out and did one better than any travel guide in the market today: we partnered up with our recommended establishments (bars and clubs, restaurants, sports, guided tours) and asked them to offer something to any of our readers. 99% loved the idea of being listed in exchange for a freebie to the tourist. This way, the establishment gets more clients, the tourist can save several hundred dollars in less than a week, and the purchase of the Rio For Partiers guide becomes a no-brainer. |
